Let’s Start
So I’ve been planning to get back on my diet for the past week but today knocked me sideways. I stood on my scales for the first time in about 2-3 weeks and I’d put on about a stone in weight, 13lbs (roughly 2 kilos). I was absolutely mortified! Everyone keeps saying it’s weight put on from my holiday and will go soon but I don’t agree. On holiday I ate better than I usually do and walked for miles most days! So I’ve set Monday as the strict starting day however I will do my best to follow it this weekend as well considering the fridge is already stocked with fruit and veg!
The diet of choice is the G.I. Plan which I’ve tried before quite successfully however stopped a couple of weeks later due to various reasons (not associated with the diet or food at all!). So this is what I’m going back on to. Why? Well in a nutshell (I’ll explain more about the diet in detail when I set my diet pages up) you get to eat pretty normally throughout the day, it does make you cook more from scratch, eat more fruit and veg and well… it works!
So I’m going to plan around my freezer for now as I’m having to tighten the purse strings where spending is concerned. I’ve got plenty of fish and chicken sitting in the freezer so that should do me until I go up to Dave’s on Wednesday, and then I’ll just have to live healthily up there for the 6 days I’m there too. I’m also going to get back into the gym. I’ve been paying out £36 a month for fitness first membership and haven’t gone for 2 months! That’s just not worth the money. To be honest next week whilst I’m at Dave’s I’m going to visit the local pay as you go gym and see how much it costs and what it’s like for equipment. Plus I’ll check the local PAYG gym here in Cardiff too and then cancel Fitness First. Whilst I will do my best to get to the gym 2-3 times a week I won’t always have the time due to work etc. so I’ll end up saving money on the PAYG ones.
Anyhow, I will start for definite on Monday and my intention is to report back on a daily basis with the day’s progress, what I’ve eaten, what exercise I’ve done and how I’m feeling. I have a pair of Jeans I bought a month ago that I want to fit into. I can do them up but they’re very tight so that’s my first goal. I’ll write my other goals out tomorrow (well later today now!). I will also do a weekly round up on my weekly “weigh in” to show how much weight I’ve lost/gained (ever the optimist!!), any improvement on the clothes size and probably a cry about how much I want a tub of icecream (my downfall). I’ll also post up new recipes of various meals that I’ve either adapted or created for this diet. I will add recipes for other diets on their respective pages as I’ll be concentrating on the G.I. Plan in my Recipes category, however feel free to send me an email at recipes AT dietspot.com for any of the other diets and I’ll add them to the respective pages.
I’m always on the look out for other information on the various diets that I’ll be listing here. I know there’s nothing right now but I’ll be writing about The Atkins Diet, The Haye Diet, Slimmers World, Slim Fast, Curves, Low Calorie. These are all diets I’ve personally tried, some for a day or two, some for months. I’ll be writing the truth and nothing more, and provide resources for further information for each one. Just bear with me, I’m trying to diet here!
