Spring is Here
So spring is in the air, the sun is (sometimes) in the sky. The light evenings are now calling out to me to get on a bike and just go for a bit of a bike ride. I relax so much when I’m on my bike, probably because no one is taking to me, I’m concentrating on what I’m doing, and not in front of a computer! I used to wonder how people cleared their minds until I started in the gym and realised that when you really start to exercise your mind clears completely. I admit I do miss going to the gym however I just lack the motivation for going, plus it really is too much to be paying out for (considering I’ve not been in 6 months). Whereas Dave and I have discussed and are going to both buy a decent bike each.
I do already have good bike, except it’s at my parents and is too bulky to bring back/up in a car. Right now it would probably cost most to hire a van and go and pick it up than just buying a new one. Money isn’t an issue (it’s so nice to be able to say that finally!) so we’ve been checking up on the bikes currently available. We’ll hopefully get some this week and can perhaps go out a few times if the sun comes back before we go on holiday. I’ve also been thinking about seeing if we could hire some bikes whilst we’re away for a day.
I’m also planning to use gardening as a form of exercise. Well I was until I spent 7-8 hours out weeding and clearing up and 3 days on I’m still suffering with what feels like pulled hamstrings. I’m not as bad as I was on monday, but session 2 will be a lot shorter I think! Still it was nice to spend the day in the garden, beautiful weather too. Again very relaxing. Just the noise of what’s around, the birds, the wind (if any), the distant cars.
Of course spring also means light meals and salad! I don’t know if it’s the warmth or just the time of year but in the winter the last thing I want is salad whereas now I really couldn’t eat stodgy food! Dieting is always easier in the spring and summer I think.
