I Want to Ride my Bicycle
Yay, finally the football is not on as much (no offence to the football fans but I’ve had to work around the matches recently!) so Dave and I have finally gotten back out on our bikes for just the second time since we bought them. Now that the weather is nice and it’s not blowing a hurricane I’m hoping to get out on the bikes at least 4-5 times a week, ideally every night and a decent ride on Sundays. This evening we took a ride up to just the other side of the M53, where there’s a Cafe where we decided to take a pit stop. So we took a ride up there, probably took us about 20 minutes or so, stopped for a drink and dessert (yes I know, go out exercising and then eat dessert!) and then rode back.
It was quite nice to get out and get the legs working. For the past few months I’ve not been able to walk far as I seem to have possibly done something to the side of my right foot (my Dad commented about a stress fracture but you know how medical types get!), however cycling is easy and doesn’t hurt my foot at all which is great. I’m going to also make a valid effort at getting back onto the trampette this week whilst my foot can survive it. I desperately need to start losing weight again as I’ve put on almost a stone since before my birthday!

[...] After going out for our Bike Ride this evening, mid way through we’d popped into Dave’s old workplace for a drink (and *cough*dessert*cough*). By the time we’d left we somehow had arranged a kind of house warming party / leaving party for Dave (which he should have done 6 months ago!). So now we have a BBQ to prepare for and need to finish the garden off in the next 4 weeks before some guests arrive! Okay doesn’t sound so bad but we still need to build out little wall up to another level high, get some black matting down over the ‘dump’ area that’s now been flattened (thanks Dad!) and get some shale over it.
