Food for Free - and other good titles
The other week my Dad was wanting to identify a mushroom growing in the garden. He had a couple of clumps of them but wasn’t sure what they were and whether they were edible. After searching around on the web we came to the conclusion it must be a horse mushroom and thus edible. However he mentioned then that he really should get an up to date book on mushrooms. It struck me then that a perfect gift for Christmas would be a book on wild edible food, such as plants, herbs and fungi. He goes out weekly on his bike for a few hours and will always come across a patch of some sort of food, fruit growing off the trees, wild herbs etc. So today whilst we were out in town we decided to have a look for a couple of books for him. A larger one to keep at home but a small pocket guide to take out with him.
Anyhow we’ve found a few but haven’t made a decision yet. If anyone has any recommendations they’re gratefully received
