Lobster Grill – Review
Yesterday we decided to spend the afternoon at the seaside (okay the side of the Mersey!) and then went to our current favourite restaurant for dinner. When I say favourite I mean we’ve eaten there once and were thoroughly impressed. Turning up without a table booked on a Saturday night was a concern to me, but there was no need for concern, no waiting at all, we were instantly shown to a table and served our drinks.
The Lobster Grill, in Parkgate, Cheshire, is a ‘Steak and Seafood Restaurant’. It caters for all but of course mainly focuses on fish dishes. It seems to be a family run restaurant and is a good relief from the chain restaurants that we see everywhere these days. Last time we were there I had Lobster Thermidor (£14.95) and Dave had Swordfish Steak in garlic (2 steaks – £11.95), along with starters, dessert, drinks and coffee it came to just over £50, about the same price as the chain restaurants will charge.
This time I went for the Seafood sampler (£14.75), half a Lobster Thermidor, 6 scampi, 4 butterfly prawns, 4 garlic king prawns, plus enough french fries for 2 people and a side salad! I have to say I had far too much to eat. I’d already had Calamari for starter, so I had to force myself to finish dinner, and couldn’t even face the dessert! (A rarerity for me!!). The dinner was again fantastic. Dave had 5 (yes 5) lambchops in a chilli butter with chips and veg and even he had to force himself to finish it. Starters, main courses plus drinks came to around £40. Definitely not much for an exceptionally good meal yet again.
Each time we go there I’ll try something different. There’s so much on the fish menu alone that I want to try.
If you’re in or close to the area of Parkgate and fancy a fish meal then I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
