That’s 49 Chillis potted!
I’ve spent this afternoon (when the rain finally stopped) finally getting some of the chillis repotted. We had so many in a seed tray, some sharing the little ‘compartment’, and now a lot of them are around 3 inches tall I needed to get them into larger pots and on their own so that the roots would stop tangling. I managed to get 49 potted up but have now run out of pots and compost! So we’ll have to pop up to the garden centre tomorrow and pick up some more supplies as I have about 28 more to do.
I’ve already given some plants away and a few have died off, so now they’re in their own pots we’ll have to see what keeps going and what gives up. Unfortunately I don’t have enough space for all of them in my greenhouse so I’ve had to cover a couple with propogator lids and hope that they will be protected especially as it’s very windy and heavy rain at times right now. I’m hoping the good weather will come back soon.
We have a couple of plants already in the ground with mini makeshift greenhouses over them (aka 5l water bottles!). These are both now growing new leaves which is great to see. Shame we don’t have more of the water bottles as I could probably put the other 4 strong plants out there. However we may find something at the garden centre tomorrow.
