Food ‘n Drink

After checking on my tomato plants yesterday, removing the side shoots and tying them up to the cane again, I spotted a tiny little tomato starting to appear out of one of the flowers. I think with all the hot weather we’ve been having the plants have just grown quicker than usual, especially with the mix of rain and hot weather at times.

We currently have 6 plants growing. Two are standard tomatoes, one cherry tomato bush, one that will produce yellow tomatoes (Sunrise) and two beef tomato plants. They all seem to be growing pretty well and are each around 1/2 metre high with the bush a little smaller. Now with the fruit showing it’s time to start feeding them. Last year I didn’t feed them as often as I should have. Most of them still grew fine anyhow, however I plan to do things right this year!

Can’t wait to get back to eating our own tomatoes.
