Chilli Fruit are Growing Finally
Finally, after the really wet summer (apparently the wettest since records began 90+ years ago) one of our many chilli plants has started to fruit. Up until now we’ve had plenty of growth and even more flowers, but nothing was happening. After 100+ seedlings, I started to wonder if my green fingers were not so green, however one of the plants has finally started to grow actual chillis. I think it’s one of the Cayenne Chilli plants, as there are many plants that look similar to it, and this was the most we had of one variety.
With Summer theoretically over (although the sun will maybe start to shine - there’s always hope), I’m going to bring a few of the stronger, bigger plants indoors, and put them in front of the patio doors so that they get any sun that appears but will also get the benefit of the warmth of the house. Hopefully then all of my Chilli growing and hard work may not all be wasted.
